Solar carports at Toulon-Hyères Airport
SunMind has installed a solar carport power plant in the P3 car park at Toulon Hyères Airport, which supplies the airport with green electricity and helps reduce CO2 emissions by 40 tons per year.
Located in the car park dedicated to rental companies and made up of 1,134 low-carbon photovoltaic panels, this plant has a capacity of 500 kWp and will produce up to 690 MWh per year to supply the airport operated by VINCI Airports. The surplus production is fed into the local electricity grid.
Commissioned in March 2024, it is the first of two solar power plants to be installed at this airport. The next plant, scheduled for 2026, will cover over 700 parking spots. For this highly technical project, SunMind worked in partnership with Omexom, a specialist in the construction of photovoltaic power plants in airport environments (in charge of the construction of the Faro power plant in 2022 and that of Lyon, currently under construction) and Enersteel, an expert in the manufacture of solar carport structures.
